The migrant crisis on the Belarus-Poland border has been deadlocked to find destinations for approximately 2,000 migrants that Belarus has transferred to makeshift shelters. Seeking solution is complicated by the fact that this situation is not simply a “immigration crisis” but contains an aspect of a “hybrid attack” using immigrants. Belarus has been rattling EU by conducting joint military exercise with Russia, threatening to stop natural gas supply from Russia, which made this issue tightly connected with military and energy security. EU regards this crisis as an attack on the entire EU, and put first priority to unite with solidarity, by leaving human rights and humanitarian concerns quietly behind.
